Today on 1 April 2020, writing a report on OPM RFC’s last 12 months seems a little strange and insignificant in the grand scheme of things as we sit in lockdown waiting for what is to come.

However I have seen what I deem to be the best of the OPM family that we have all created in the most difficult of times and facing such unknown adversity. It is at times like these when you truly see the values of the rugby club as it encourages contact through social media and other avenues and allows all players, young and old, to interact and stay involved in this fantastic club.

From selecting your Ultimate OPM XV to an OPM virtual pub, to coach’s sessions and competitions provided to players online and courses to complete whilst you are housebound. Never am I as proud of the OPM family as at times like these.

Thank you to everyone who has been involved in any way with this and ensuring it helps with the OPM family’s health and well-being and long may it continue. One thing I do know is that we will hold the biggest festival and party that OPMs have ever seen when this is finally over!

As a club, we have had a terrific season in all aspects of rugby on and off the field for the 2019/20 season. Our First XV were looking forward to an improved season in Devon One, our Second XV, the Jesters, to continue to scalp higher club opposition in a strong
Merit table league and our Touch and Juniors continuing to move from strength to strength.
