For the ones, it was a nail biting start to the league with a nip and tuck game that could’ve gone either way. Braces from Alex Jewell, Matt Smale and Fred Smale plus conversion from Matt Smale in difficult windy conditions took the plaudits but it went down to the wire.
A tough, young and abrasive Crediton RFC IIs team game to play and did not disappoint. Constantly coming back and never giving up to which they deserved 2 bonus points.
For the Os, a magnificent & dominant scrum, excellent lineout with Darren Ewers superb darts and some excellent fitness was enough in the end. The new gameplay looked strong throughout and we played with confidence and purpose scoring 6 tries of which one Fred Smale wonder try is already on the try of the season list!!!!
This was a fantastic victory but we’re not getting excited as we now travel to Bideford for one of the longest trips we have this season next weekend. However we enjoyed the weekend and it’s great to be back!!!!
