A few words from our very own Jenny Trinder after an outstanding 14 years at the helm of OPM Juniors!! She's put in some outstanding work to bring the Juniors to the point they are now and shown what a true OPM she is. This is not a goodbye as we know we will see you in the bar.... or hear you on the sidelines! 😃Â
After 14 years as Junior Chair of our rugby club, the time has come for me to step down and hand over the reins. It’s time for fresh ideas, new energy, and continued leadership to guide the club forward.
What a journey it’s been. I’ve had the absolute privilege of watching my boys grow through the game, learning not just rugby skills, but the core values that make this sport so special—respect, discipline, teamwork, and integrity. Alongside them, I’ve learned just as much.
From the early mornings to the long Sundays, from nearly folded age groups to covering the kitchen week in and week out—there have been tough times, no doubt. But always, there’s been joy. We’ve built something special: a fun, family-oriented, inclusive environment where children can enjoy playing rugby and grow as people.
I’ve met incredible people along the way. Too many to name, but each of you has played your part. The coaches, team managers, committee members, volunteers—you are the heart of this club. The reason it has not only survived, but thrived.
As I step away, I do so with confidence. The club is in safe hands. It will continue to go from strength to strength, not because of any one person, but because of all of you who give your time, passion, and care to make it great.
So here’s a huge, heartfelt thank you. I could write an endless list of names, but instead, I’ll say one big thank you to everyone who’s supported me and shared in the mission of making this a wonderful place for kids to play rugby.
I won’t be far—I’ll still be on the sidelines, cheering (probably louder than I should) for my now-grown-up boys. I hope to see many of you around, and when you do, you’ll probably hear me before you see me!
Signing off one last time.........
